Parents need to know that Hidden is a grim, slow-burning thriller/horror starring Alexander Skarsgård, Andrea Riseborough, and Emily Alyn Lind as a family hiding in an underground shelter from a mysterious threat above. With its characters living in a constant state of fear, this post-apocalyptic film offers a twist on the typical zombie narrative. The setting's claustrophobic feel and the story's slow, tense build-up keep viewers in the dark (literally) for much of the movie, and intense peril and jump scares are frequent. What's the Story?
HIDDEN tells the post-apocalyptic story of Ray (Alexander Skarsgård), Claire (Andrea Riseborough), and their 7-year old daughter, Zoe (Emily Alyn Lind), as they struggle to survive underground while hiding from a mysterious threat looming above. Living in fear and darkness inside a bomb shelter for more than 300 days, the family has been able to turn their bunker into a home. But now their safe haven has been breached. Something is coming for them, and hiding is no longer an option.
